As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the pleasure of trying out some of the dishes at Flat Top Grill. Their starters like the Quesadilla, Gyoza, and Edamame were flavorful and satisfying. It's a good place for those who want to customize their stir fry experience by adding your own sauces and flavors and ingredients. The inside is lovely and you are able to choose separate meat or non meat in addition to adding all the Veges and ingredients that you like. You also have an option to choose a pre listed ready made dish by the kitchen. But I would say it's more fun to add your own stuff and sauces. The food came out cooked well and hot and the server brings it to your table once you leave your bowl and sauces at the counter. The veges in the buffet style area were not very (thus the 4 stars) fresh but the variety was good as well as the sauces. And you have to do a balancing act to put as much as you can into a small bowl. I think for the price of $17.99 per person they should give you much bigger bowls. You can add scrambled eggs or white cheese or extra bread to your dish for an extra $0.75 and they will add it for you when they cook your compilation. One piece of Roti bread comes w the $17.99 per person meal (the one you choose your own stuff). Overall a nice experience. The reason I give it 5/5 is solely because of the elevator that they have for those who are in wheelchairs or in pain (!!! Great job) but as for the food ... not all the veges were fresh and the bowl you add your veges to is very small so you can't fit much in it (so add the sauces separately in plastic containers they give you on the side) and for this it's $17.99 which I think is a bit pricey but it does include 2 meats which they add at the end separately and it was a decent amount). So enjoy! The wait staff were very nice and sweet. The elevator is inside the restaurant as soon as you enter for about 3-4 steps, which is really fine for people who need assistance with wheelchairs, which I haven't seen in most restaurants anywhere in the world.

Love the food at Flat Top at always, was super bummed there weren't the cute little sticks anymore. The experience was always half the fun of eating here. Anyway, Love Love Love the food so I ordered a second bowl to go.

Service was superb, while being close to closing time. Never a bad experience at Flat Top Wabash

This spot was recommended to us, Servings are huge, food was really good. We were a bit confused if we just order from menu or just pick from bar, but server thoroughly answered our questions.

Very fun place for lunch, especially with coworkers or for a special occasion! I love the make your own bowl concept and it always turns out tasty. Good service and convenient location.

Great servers very nice and helpful kind to me being handicapped very welcome has a elevator to welcome

Whenever someone visits me in Chicago, this is a must-go-to location. Even the pickiest eaters can find something to eat (and I have some very picky eaters in my family). The create-your-own stir fry bowl options allow you to choose everything from your protein, grains, veggies, and sauces. I have tried all of their proteins at this point and my recommendation is to go with the sausage if you eat meat or no protein at all if you are vegetarian and then add lots of tofu at the line. The food lines can get a little messy when it's busy. I am very glad that they now require folks to wear gloves. The only thing I will make sure to make very clear is that this location is not recommended for anyone with severe food allergies (gluten, dairy, pine nuts, etc). Service is always very fast to get your food but there are never that many waiters. Great lunch or dinner spot that you must try!

I have been to Flat Top Grill many times but in this visit I noticed they have changed the way you place your order for the customized stir fry. You still order with your server but they no longer give the little flags with your initials, now you get a paper receipt. I used to like the old way of ordering though :( 5/5 for the food. I will recommend Build Your Own Stir Fry, Roti Bread. The veggies are always fresh, I usually like it to top it with their variety options for the sauces. The concept is really good but the first timers may be should go with someone who has been here before or skip (lol) because there isn't much guidance or help provided by servers in understanding how much to fill up your bowl or add sauces. 3/5 for ambience: it's not a super fancy place so on a flip side, you can literally walk in your pajamas. I will recommend this place for delicious and yummy food.
